Our Focus

The Global Girls' Summit is a one-day

interactive symposium that engages middle and high school girls in unique learning activities 

focused on leadership and global citizenship. 

 

2019 Theme

The theme of this years' summit is

“Building Dreams, Bridging Communities”

The purpose of this summit is to engage local middle and high school girls in unique and interactive learning activities focused on

leadership development and global citizenship

-- increasing their awareness about the challenges girls face both locally and globally, in relation to a range of topics, including education, health,

and access to positions of power.

Wad Khalafalla is a world-traveler, hoping to change people's lives along the way. She has wandered to over 25 countries, and volunteered in countless others. Wad currently works at Spread the Vote as a Field and Outreach Coordinator. She earned her Masters in Public Administration from UNC Chapel Hill, and her Bachelors' in Mass Communications and Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. Sunah Hallie

Sunah Hallie has been dedicated to mentoring youth and young adults for over a decade. As a public health professional she has managed projects aimed at reducing health inequalities, eliminating food insecurity and most recently improving patient satisfaction as data specialist for an acute care hospital. She holds a Bachelors of Health Science in Public Health Administration and a Masters of Public Health in Health Policy, Management and Leadership.
